Red Cross Response to Flood

The heavy seasonal monsoon has brought strong winds and heavy rains across large part of Myanmar since third week July in this year. Monsoon rains and increased water levels in major rivers have caused seasonal floods in Myanmar.
Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) has been monitoring the situation from the beginning of the monsoon season. According to the situation, MRCS has activated its own Emergency Operations Center (EOC) since 28th July. MRCS has provided some assistance including WASH, health services and evacuation support in flood-affected areas as well as distribution of relief items such as food, drinking water, hygiene parcels, dignity kits, family kits, kitchen set, water purification tablet, tarpaulins, shelter tool kits,hygiene kits, mosquito nets and Oral Rehydration Salt.
