The President of the Myanmar Red Cross Society, Prof. Dr. Myo Nyunt, along with Full-Time Executive Committee member Dr. Daw Yi Yi Tin, Deputy Director of the Disaster Management Department Daw Moe Thita Win, and 2 additional members, attended the Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Humanitarian Action meeting held in Nepal from June 13th to June 15th, 2023.

The Deputy Director of the Disaster Management Department led discussions on the topic “Anticipation for Heatwaves in Urban Areas.” In a side meeting, the President, Full-Time Executive Committee member, Deputy Director of the Disaster Management Department and representatives of IFRC actively engaged in discussions regarding the Cyclone Mocha responses undertaken by the Myanmar Red Cross.

Joining the discussions were Mr. Azmat Ulla, Head of the IFRC country office in Nepal, Mr. Krishna Kumar K.C, External Relations and Liaison Manager (Country Delegation Nepal), Mr. Kamal Baral, Country Coordinator (Swiss Red Cross, Nepal), and Mr. Ramesh Neupane, Health Program Manager (Canadian Red Cross, Nepal).

During the meeting, the President and the team also visited the Nepal Blood Bank in the Nepal Red Cross Society.
