Everywhere for Everyone

  09/ May/ 2021

In any emergency, basic first aid skills can often help save lives, especially for those living in rural areas far away from hospitals or health centres. Over the past few months, together with the Buthidaung branch of the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS), we facilitated two first aid trainings for 40 participants, including Red Cross staff and volunteers as well as 20 community members living in IDP sites in Buthidaung.
U Kyaw, a community representative was keen to impart his new knowledge to his community members. After the three day-training he said “I am very happy with this training and what we have learnt here from the Red Cross. I really think that in the future I can help the people of my village with doing a bandage and stopping a bleeding or stabilizing of a broken arm. This first-aid training was very important for us!”
First-aid trainings are part of our ongoing community efforts with the MRCS and more are planned in the coming months.
