On December 27, 2023, the affected communities in Sinphyukyun township, Magway Region, received financial assistance through the unconditional cash grant program. This support was provided through a collaborative effort involving the operations management unit of the Myanmar Red Cross Society, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the German Red Cross Society and the Danish Red Cross Society. Professor Dr. Chaw Khin, Chairman of the Magway Red Cross Supervisory Committee, along with Daw Aye Aye Nyein and staffs from the operations management unit, and Red Cross volunteers from Sinphyukyun township, were actively involved in the humanitarian activities. They disbursed a total of 69.2 million kyats to 126 households in Pyitawthar village, 125 households in Myaukshartaw village, 101 households in No. 1 ward, 77 households in No. 2 ward, 168 households in No. 3 ward, making a total of 597 households. The Magway Red Cross Society successfully implemented the unconditional cash grant program, providing financial assistance totalling 394 million kyats to 1,970 affected households from November 22 to December 23.
