“I wanted to serve people in trouble in our community as a volunteer in my spare time “

     I am U Myo Lin Htike. I am a Red Cross volunteer at Myanmar Red Cross Society Hakha township Red Cross branch, Chin State. I joined the Red Cross Society in 2019 because ” I wanted to serve people in trouble in our community as a volunteer in my spare time.” At the same time that I joined the Red Cross Society, the COVID-19 outbreak had started and I have been participating in the prevention works since that time.

     I have also helped in providing humanitarian aid and social support to displaced households and families affected by fire outbreaks. I even helped to stop fire from spreading and harmed myself a little. However, I am glad that I could give first aid treatment to injured people and be helpful for everyone.

     I have learned a lot working as a Red Cross volunteer and I am always ready to help the community according to the (seven) fundamental principles.
