Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) is doing various healthcare activities mainly via its Resilience programs, community based disease prevention programs, Water and Sanitation programs, Maternal Newborn and Child Health programs, Orthopedic Rehabilitation Center, Blood donor recruitment and retention program and Mobile Clinics. Those activities reach about 600000 people across the country annually with the support of various partners including IFRC, ICRC, Swedish Red Cross, Finnish Red Cross, Cartier Foundation, Global Fund, Danish Red Cross, DRC-3MDG, Australian Red Cross and UN agencies such as WHO, UNOPS and UNICEF. MRCS healthcare activities, projects and programmes mainly provide one or more of the following interventions:
- Community-based health with integrated approaches which includes prevention of both communicable and non-communicable diseases
- Reproductive health
- Maternal, new-born and child health
- Community-based health and First Aid (CBHFA)
- Mobile Medical Clinics
- Ambulance services
- Voluntary non-remunerated blood donors recruitment
- Physical rehabilitation and outreach prosthetic activities
- Public health in emergences – this includes Water and Sanitation, as well as Psychosocial support interventions
